WHAT HAPPEN TO THE NEW JACK SWING ERA?

What ever happen to the New Jack Swing era? Teddy Riley, Guy, New Edition, high top fades and starter jackets? Don't get me wrong. I don't believe that we have completely forgotten about the Era that gave us Tupac, and Biggie and movies like New Jack City. However, we do very little to celebrate the cultural impact the late 80's early 90's has had on society. Maybe it’s because of the social media age, it’s more difficult to celebrate something that is at a fingertips, but somebody has to speak up for the greats like Teddy Riley, and SWV, and countless other entertainers who have giving my generation so many great songs and movies to remember. Ask any artist or actor out now, chances are they will have a plenty of songs and movies they can say they loved during the New Jack Swing era. Take Bruno Mars for example. You can’t help but notice with his music how impactful the New Jack Swing era was for him. Hell I sometimes listen to his music thinking it must be throwback hour. So what are we doing wrong? I'm an eighties baby, so I can’t say that I lived through the new jack swing era, but trust me, all I know is Keith Sweat, Troop, Xscape, TLC, and movies like BEBE kids, House Party, and one of my all-time Eddie Murphy movies Boomerang. Yeah we had it good. Now a days all we have is reality shows and super hero movies. Don't get me wrong, Marvel and DC have don't a great job at captivating audience for several years now, and doesn't look like they are going to be slowing down anytime soon. We need to bring back the good old days. How nice would it be to have modern version of Boys N the Hood? Or maybe another Guy album with rump shaking and part fades. Who says just because these artist are older that the era has to end. Since when do we confine ourselves to what time tells us? Why does Fresh Prince need to be alone in an empty room? How come we can’t see what Shawn and Marlon would have done with that news stand money? It’s like we are punishing an era for no reason. If the Kardashians can make it, then there is no reason why shows like, In the House, Parent Hood, In Living Single, can’t come back and bless us with more memories. Maybe it’s going to take a person to write these modern day scripts for these productions companies. Or maybe we just need to come together more like we do when a new IPhone comes out. Whatever it is we should figure it out now, because reality shows and mumble music is starting to take over. And I don't know about you, but I can only take so much of it.
