With so many remakes in movies, I figured we dive into some movies from my childhood that deserve to be remade. Here are my top ten movies from the 90's that deserve a remake.
#10. BOOMERANG

If you ever wished you could be a Casanova. Then Marcus Graham was a reason why. Portrayed by Eddie Murphy, A ladies man with all the right things to say until Karma comes his way by way of a woman's scorn. Boomerang is no question a movie that should be remade.
#9. A Thin Line Between Love and Hate.

Who can forget the beautiful Lynn Whitfield's savage ways against the scared and oblivious Martin Lawrence in A Thin Line Between Love and Hate? This was not only a great movie, but also made way for
a couple of successful songs by H-Town and R. Kelly. This is a movie that can only do well as a remake.
#8. BEBE'S KIDS

We may have lost the great Robin Harris, But he left us with a childhood favorite in BEBE'S Kids. We all have experienced the power of a rude, obnoxious kid, but few of us have gone as far as Robin did to gain the love and respect of his date Jamika. With tons of laughs and a few life lessons. BEBE'S Kids would be a great real life remake of a timeless classic.
#7. MAJOR PAYNE

One! Don't you feel dumb. Two! Look at you. Three! Don't you ever make jokes about me behind my back or else I'll stomp you into the ground. Oh yes the ever so loving Major Payne. This one should be on everyone's list to be remade, not to much a you can say about Damon Wayans in this comedy other then making sure he is casted as the same drill instructor. They can take this movie so many different ways.
#6. CLASS ACT

The 90's gave us great music, fashion and movies, and part of that can go to the emergence of a light skinned high top fade teen and a hood, ladies man with all the right things to say teen Kid and Play. What better way to mix music school and romance in one movie then in Class Act. This movie had all you could want in a teen movie. This movie can be remade over and over with each generation.
#5. EDDIE (1996)

Who says woman can coach men's sports? Whoopi played the incomparable Edwina 'Eddie' Franklin in this 1996 comedy giving new woman the voice inside a male dominated sport. The only question is why do we still to this day not have a woman's coach in any of the major male sports? Either way you cut it. This movie can be remade now with the coach being that of the NFL. Who knows maybe I will write the script? hmmm.
#4. SET IT OFF (1996)

A star studded cast and a well written movie. Set It Off was a telling movie that all genders could identify with. A young Jada Pinkett Smith captured the hearts of viewers in the only survivor of a female bank robbers teams story. I must say This was a underrated movie that should have been nominated for more awards. Maybe in a remake it can get the much deserved recognition.
#3. THE WOOD

Best friends are special people and often times known as family. That was the case for these three teens. Mike, Slim, and Roland. A comedy that we all shared in our real life friendships. The Wood is a movie ready for a sequel. Maybe even shown from a womans perspective.
#2. NEW JACK CITY

Of course no list is complete without a Wesley Snipes. And what better way to honor him then with a remake of one of his classic roles as Nino Brown in New Jack City. This movie is just dying to be remade into a modern version. A compelling story that dives into the pain of a community and drugs.
#1. BOYZ IN THE HOOD

My number one pick of 90's movies that deserve to be remade is none other then Boys in The Hood. This story deserves to be retold in all perspectives of the major inner cities. This movie can create a much needed dialogue on what is still like for some boys in these poverty stricken neighborhoods of America.
